The Craft

Precision, patience and in-house control - the process behind every spool of A-LON metallic yarn.

From film to spool

How metallic yarn is made

Every step happens in one place. That is how we keep quality consistent, respond quickly to trends and plan for the environment.

Film selection

High-grade polyester film is chosen for strength, clarity and an even surface that holds lustre.

Metallic & lacquer coating

The film receives its metallic layer and a protective lacquer coat that locks in shine and colour.

Colouring

Shades are developed and matched in-house - the work behind our library of 2100+ colours.

Precision slitting

Coated film is slit into fine, uniform ribbons so the yarn runs smoothly on high-speed machines.

Twisting & covering

Ribbons are twisted, covered or doubled over nylon or polyester cores to form kasab, badla, jari and dori.

Winding & quality check

Every lot is wound, inspected for evenness, strength and colour consistency, then packed for dispatch.

Responsible manufacturing

Technology and the environment, in balance.

Aksharlon strongly believes in balancing technology with protecting the environment through careful planning. Integrating production in one place cuts unnecessary transport and handling, and lets us manage material use and waste at every stage - while our team keeps the range innovative with the newest market trends.
